Responsibilities
- Order Processing: Verify shipping orders for accuracy, calculate shipping costs, and prepare necessary documentation such as bills of lading and commercial invoices.
- Carrier Coordination: Liaise with trucking companies and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, track shipments in real-time, and resolve any transit delays.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand without overstocking.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify potential shipping issues (e.g., customs delays, damaged goods) and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
- Customer Communication: Provide timely updates to internal teams and external clients regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities adhere to local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and familiar with logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when required.
