Responsibilities
- Order Processing: Review and verify purchase orders and shipping instructions to ensure accuracy and timely preparation of goods for dispatch.
- Carrier Coordination: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to arrange pickup and delivery schedules, negotiating rates where necessary.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, process, and maintain accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure stock availability and proper handling of shipments.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, and damages promptly to minimize downtime and customer impact.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or ERP software is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex logistics issues under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data entry and documentation to ensure zero errors in shipping records.
