Responsibilities
- Manage Shipping Operations: Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and optimal carrier selection.
- Documentation: Prepare, review, and verify all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, ensuring compliance with international and domestic regulations.
- Carrier Liaison: Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and 3PLs to resolve transit issues and negotiate rates.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability for shipping and assist in cycle counting accuracy.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and claims efficiently to minimize financial loss.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and prepare daily dispatch reports.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with TMS software (e.g., HighJump, Manhattan Associates) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with vendors and internal teams at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review documentation for errors and ensure accuracy in data entry.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Logistics preferred.
