Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs forms.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping logs, inventory levels, and delivery status.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing cargo for damage and ensure proper packaging standards.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage logistics data and optimize routes.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of freight trucks using proper forklift and pallet jack equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehousing.
- Proficiency with TMS software (e.g., Manhattan, HighJump) or MS Office Suite (Excel essential).
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations, hazardous material handling, and customs procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a valid forklift certification and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
