Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve logistics issues and delays.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Monitor shipment status in real-time and update inventory records in the ERP system.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce shipping costs and optimize transit times.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of freight costs and vendor performance metrics.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination role.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Basic math skills for calculating shipping rates, weights, and dimensional analysis.
