Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Manage and schedule inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate pickup and delivery times.
- Documentation: Prepare, verify, and process shipping documents including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers to resolve transit delays and issues.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory counts during shipping.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of shipping records to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, claims, and damages immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain management.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business or Logistics is a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with shipping software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or Manhattan).
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review data and identify errors before shipment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
