Responsibilities
- Shipment Management: Track incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying the accuracy of freight manifests, and resolving discrepancies immediately to prevent delays.
- Carrier Coordination: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries efficiently.
- Documentation: Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork with precision.
- Inventory Control: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring stock is ready for dispatch and storage.
- Customer Communication: Provide timely updates to clients regarding shipment status and address any inquiries or complaints professionally.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot shipping delays or errors.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy when handling data, paperwork, and inventory counts.
- Valid Driver's License: A clean driving record is preferred.
