Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Monitor shipment progress and communicate delays or issues to relevant stakeholders immediately.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory logs in our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and claim issues efficiently to minimize financial impact.
- Assist in the physical loading and unloading of freight when necessary to ensure safety standards are met.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential).
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
