What You'll Do:
As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be the linchpin of our supply chain operations, ensuring that every shipment is processed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Freight: Schedule and track inbound and outbound shipments using ERP systems to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and packing lists to ensure compliance with international and domestic regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to manage inventory turnover and stock placement.
- Carrier Liaison: Communicate effectively with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to resolve transit issues and delays.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for damage or discrepancies, reporting any issues immediately to the logistics manager.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the shipping process and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain or related field is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot shipping discrepancies and make quick, data-driven decisions under pressure.
