Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling, loading, and dispatching of freight to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies and delays.
- Process returns, manage claims, and investigate damaged goods to minimize financial loss.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends and recommend process improvements for cost reduction and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination role.
- Proficiency in logistics software (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate with vendors.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, as business needs arise.
