Responsibilities
- Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the end-to-end shipping process, including scheduling pickups, arranging freight, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Freight Management: Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments, track carrier performance, and resolve any delays or logistical bottlenecks immediately.
- Documentation: Prepare and review all shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and customs paperwork to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate stock levels are maintained for shipping readiness.
- Carrier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to negotiate rates and secure capacity.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational efficiency and implement process improvements to reduce costs and streamline workflows.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex logistical issues.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
