Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Manage the scheduling and coordination of both domestic and international freight shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Carrier Management: Track shipments in real-time, communicate with carriers regarding delays, and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
- Cost Analysis: Monitor shipping costs and negotiate rates with carriers to optimize the company's logistics budget.
- Inventory Accuracy: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate stock levels and proper handling of outbound goods.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipping activities and generate performance reports as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot shipping issues and make quick decisions under pressure.
- License: Valid driver’s license is preferred.
