Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Manage the scheduling and tracking of inbound and outbound freight to ensure timely delivery and accurate delivery times.
- Documentation: Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Carrier Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for third-party logistics providers and carriers to resolve shipping discrepancies and address inquiries.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records within the warehouse system and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure stock accuracy.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze shipping costs and negotiate rates with carriers to ensure we receive the best value for our logistics operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including hazardous material handling if applicable.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Driving: Valid driverβs license and a clean driving record.
