Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Schedule and manage inbound and outbound freight to ensure timely delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, verify, and process shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Carrier Relations: Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and vendors to schedule pickups and resolve delivery issues.
- Tracking & Monitoring: Monitor shipment status in real-time and update the internal tracking system to ensure total visibility.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze shipping costs and negotiate rates with carriers to reduce expenses without compromising service quality.
- Customer Service: Provide accurate tracking updates and address inquiries regarding shipment status to ensure high client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Incoterms, import/export regulations, and customs procedures.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP or logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot shipping delays and identify efficient solutions to logistical challenges.
