Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipment Logistics: Manage the scheduling, routing, and tracking of inbound and outbound freight to ensure on-time delivery.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, verify, and process all shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and trucking companies to resolve shipping issues, delays, or damages efficiently.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels related to shipping and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate stock availability.
- Data Analysis: Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to analyze shipping costs, transit times, and carrier performance metrics.
- Customer Relations: Provide exceptional service to clients by updating them on shipment status and addressing any inquiries promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and experience with TMS software (e.g., ProShip, HighJump) is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot logistical challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
