Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced operators to handle the movement of materials within our distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and electric pallet jacks to move products.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trailers, railcars, and containers in accordance with safety protocols and shipping schedules.
- Inventory Management: Perform cycle counts, stock checks, and ensure all inventory is accurately tagged and located in the correct bins.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, wear required PPE, and report any potential hazards immediately.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet daily productivity goals.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Must possess a valid and current Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for long periods, and navigate a busy warehouse environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy regarding inventory counts and order picking.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license is required for some positions (e.g., Yard Hostler).
