Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload shipments of perishable goods into and out of cold storage units using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor as needed.
- Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, counting, and verifying inventory against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
- Temperature Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record temperature logs to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Packaging: Properly package and label products to prevent damage during transit and storage.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area within the facility to prevent cross-contamination.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic routine maintenance checks on forklifts and storage equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or cold storage environments is highly preferred.
- Certification: Valid Forklift Certification is required or willingness to obtain one.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods in a cold environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and checking temperature logs.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime.
- Communication: Basic English proficiency and ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
