Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
- Load and unload merchandise from trailers, railcars, or ships and transport products to and from storage areas.
- Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of forklifts to ensure machinery is in proper working order.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all 5S warehouse standards and safety protocols.
- Verify inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts and reconciling stock with the warehouse management system.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing orders for shipment in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) required; certification training available for qualified candidates.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer literacy for logging inventory and tracking shipments.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
