Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload merchandise onto and off trailers, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Machinery Operation: Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., Reach Trucks, Order Pickers) and other warehouse equipment efficiently and within safety regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Inventory Management: Conduct accurate inventory counts and ensure stock levels are maintained and organized correctly.
- Palletizing: Properly palletize and shrink-wrap products to ensure secure transport and storage.
- Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with warehouse managers and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current forklift operator certification (Class A or B) and OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and documentation.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record if operating a yard cart or forklift with cab.
