Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-modal shipments (air, sea, rail) from vendor to customer with 99.8% accuracy
- Manage documentation compliance for international shipments (BOLs, customs forms, Incoterms)
- Optimize container utilization and reduce freight costs through strategic routing
- Act as primary liaison between carriers, warehouses, and customs authorities
- Implement real-time tracking systems for shipment visibility and exception resolution
- Lead continuous improvement projects in warehouse and port operations
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and maritime regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in port/shipping operations with Long Beach terminal familiarity
- Proficiency in logistics software (SAP, Oracle, or TMS platforms)
- HTS classification and customs brokerage knowledge
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
- Strong negotiation skills with carrier contracts
- Spanish bilingual proficiency required for vendor communications
- Proven track record of cost reduction in shipping operations
