Responsibilities
- Manage Shipping Workflow: Oversee the end-to-end coordination of inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate scheduling and timely delivery.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, verify, and file all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Carrier Management: Negotiate rates with third-party carriers and maintain strong relationships to secure the most efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Inventory & Tracking: Monitor shipment status in real-time, resolve any transit delays, and maintain accurate records of inventory movements.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damage claims, and freight audit issues promptly and professionally.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal departments, providing regular updates on shipment status.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Linguistic Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred due to the local market.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, read charts, and interpret shipping logs accurately.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
