Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping activities, including carrier selection, scheduling, and freight tracking.
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, inventory levels, and delivery statuses within the WMS.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies and delays.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Assist in the physical loading and unloading of freight to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Monitor shipping costs and optimize carrier rates where possible to improve profit margins.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics or Supply Chain is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors before dispatch.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs preferred.
