Responsibilities
- Shipment Management: Coordinate and track all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
- Documentation: Prepare and process necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations.
- Carrier Liaison: Communicate effectively with freight carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or damage claims.
- Data Analysis: Monitor shipping performance metrics and analyze data to identify trends, reduce costs, and optimize shipping routes.
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels for shipping materials and packaging supplies to prevent stockouts.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding shipment status, providing updates and addressing inquiries professionally.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changing shipping regulations and ensure all operational procedures adhere to safety and legal standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or warehouse management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and an eagle eye for detail to prevent costly errors in documentation and tracking.
- Driving: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
