Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Liaise with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies and delays.
- Monitor freight costs, negotiate rates with carriers, and audit invoices for accuracy.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA).
- Maintain accurate records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and prepare weekly reports.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding shipment status and provide timely updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or a related field.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, HighJump) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively negotiate with carriers and internal teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as needed.
