Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments to guarantee on-time delivery and maintain high service levels.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve logistics issues and coordinate pickup and drop-off schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all freight movements, costs, and inventory adjustments within the warehouse management system.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends and implement cost-saving measures or process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during loading and unloading operations.
- Assist in the management of freight audits and claims to recover overcharges.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or freight forwarding operations.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of shipping terms (Incoterms), freight classifications, and DOT regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with carriers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
