Responsibilities
- Documentation Management: Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and customs paperwork to ensure compliance.
- Carrier Coordination: Schedule pickups and deliveries with reliable freight carriers and 3PL providers, negotiating rates and tracking performance.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor incoming and outgoing cargo in real-time, identifying delays and implementing contingency plans to keep deliveries on schedule.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and shipping logs within our ERP system.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding shipment status, providing updates and resolving inquiries professionally.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in transportation management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan Associates) and MS Office Suite.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- License: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
