Responsibilities
- Shipment Management: Coordinate and track incoming and outgoing freight to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation.
- Documentation: Prepare and process shipping orders, bills of lading, and customs paperwork with 100% accuracy.
- Carrier Relations: Liaise with trucking companies and freight forwarders to negotiate rates and resolve delivery issues.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory audits to prevent stock discrepancies.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot logistical challenges, such as delays or damaged goods, and implement effective solutions immediately.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and generate daily/weekly reports on shipping performance and key metrics.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar TMS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of DOT regulations and freight classification standards (NMFC) is a plus.
