Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Freight: Safely load and unload shipments onto and off of trucks, trailers, and railcars using proper equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inventory Management: Verify incoming and outgoing goods against shipping manifests, ensuring accuracy and reporting discrepancies immediately.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of loading equipment and report any maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Packaging & Labeling: Properly package items to prevent damage during transit and apply necessary shipping labels and documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline warehouse operations and meet daily productivity targets.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license (Class C) is preferred but not always required.
- Basic Math Skills: Strong aptitude for numbers to accurately count and verify inventory.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work to ensure inventory accuracy and damage prevention.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
