Responsibilities
- Operate various types of material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers, to load and unload shipments efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance on forklifts to ensure OSHA compliance and safe operation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning barcodes and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) in real-time.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper lifting techniques and pedestrian safety.
- Keep the warehouse organized and clean in accordance with 5S standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team leads and warehouse staff to optimize workflow and resolve logistical challenges quickly.
- Assist in the preparation of orders for shipping and ensure proper packaging and labeling.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (CFO) or OSHA forklift license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret shipping labels and inventory lists.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with warehouse management software is a plus.
