Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Manage the scheduling, tracking, and documentation of all inbound and outbound freight to ensure on-time delivery.
- Vendor Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve shipping issues and discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate picking and packing processes.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify shipping labels, Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and customs paperwork compliant with regulations.
- Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve shipping delays, damaged goods, and claims efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline shipping procedures and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics or related field is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with carriers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage complex documentation and ensure data accuracy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
