Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound freight shipments in collaboration with carriers and internal teams.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms.
- Monitor shipment status in TMS systems and proactively communicate delays or issues to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and negotiate rates when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends and recommend process improvements for cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (e.g., Oracle, Manhattan, HighJump) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, hazardous material handling, and freight classification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
